When I first met my husband, he told me all about his dream of going to work in Africa. I thought that it sounded wonderful. What an adventure! I had previously been to Tanzania and Zimbabwe and loved it. Well here we are, 7 years down the track and moving to Africa in under 6 weeks. We are also taking our 2 beautiful children, Thomas and Laura with us.
We are heading to a place called Lumwana in Zambia. My husband is in the mining business, and so we are moving for his work to this mining community. I have seen some photos and have been in contact with another 'Mum' over there, so I sort of know what to expect. However, I am sure I will be in for an adventure of a lifetime. Hopefully, a wonderful one.
I grew up in the same house, in the same suburb my entire life, leaving home when I was 24 to see the world. I saw some amazing places and lived in the UK for a couple of years. I never thought that one day I would be packing up my family and moving to Africa! I never thought I would be raising my children in Africa!
